Mobile Games Are Booming in Africa

In a report released by Newzoo and African game developers, Carry1st, it was stated that in the next 10 years the amount of gamers within Sub-Saharan Africa would increase by 275%.

With that in mind, Carry1st has decided to position itself to make the most of that boom. And their mobile game publishing platform is how they plan to do it.

Carry1st Investor Funded Mobile Platform

Carry1st has raised $20 million in funding with aid from a series of prominent investors including Grammy-Award winning artists Nas, Riot Games and investment company, TTV Capital.

The funding will go to establishing the company’s mobile publishing platform. Following a 96% revenue growth, Carry1st will then utilise the extra capital to acquire new users, grow its product and expand its portfolio which will mean working with leading studios on original IP.

Mobiele (Mobi-lay) is the new name on the gaming streets.

Geared towards mobile gamers in Africa, Mobiele is a competitive app that allows players to compete, connect and win prizes.

Microsoft Acquire Activision Blizzard!

In a blog post released on 18 January, 2022,  Microsoft announced that they will be purchasing Activision Blizzard.

This move will see Microsoft adding a Activision Blizzard’s new titles and legendary games including Call of Duty, Overwatch and Warcraft, to their roster.

Until the scheduled purchase close in 2023 both companies will continue operating independently.

Shenmue the Animation is On Its Way!

After its announcement at Comiccon 2021, Shenmue the Animation is finally on its way.

The highly anticipated anime will follow the same story as the popular video game series Shenmue.

After the murder of his father and the disappearance of a mysterious mirror, Ryo Hzuki seeks the truth only to find himself caught in a war between underground organizations.
