Leti Arts Unveil Blind Frontiers

Ghanaian game development company, Leti Arts have announced the release of their comic Blind Frontiers: Numia’s Tale.

The comic is a spin-off of a same-titled video game, Blind Frontiers. Set in a post war world, the game follows the story of a yound girl names, Numia who must navigates the devastated No Man’s Land, manage resources and survive all whilst facing the stigmas of living with Albinism. The game is scheduled for release in 2024.

On the other hand, the comic follows the heroine’s story and will be one of the first comics to have an African protagonist with Albinism.

Sigana: Tales of Lawino Preserve African Oral Tradition

Currently in development by Leso Stories, Sigana: Tales of Lawino is a VR project that seeks to preserve the African culture of oral storytelling.

The VR experience sees users take on the persona of a 7 year old child. As the story unfolds, users will engage with a virtual human storyteller named Lawino and be presented with tasks to perform.

It is the first in a series of three stories based on African legends and fables titled: the Legend of Lwanda Magere, The Myth of Simbi Nyaima and A Feast in the Sky.

The Sigana: Tales of Lawino project is a recipient of the Mawazo Intistute’s Grants and investment from the HEVA  Fund.  It was also selected as one of two winners in the immersive reality catergory at Digital Lab Africa 2020.

Who are the Dora Milaje?

The mysterious Dora Milaje made their debut way back in the 1989 in the first issue of Black Panther. Since then they’ve graced the big screen on the box-office hit movie, Black Panther.

It’s no secret that fans have been enamoured by these African Amazons since then yet so little is known about them. Who are they really? What is their history? How did they go from a team of 2 to 500? All of these questions have gone unanswered. Until now.

Protectors of Wakanda: A History and Training Manual for the Dora Milaje

The mystery of the famed Dora Milaje will finally be unveiled in a new book titled Protectors of Wakanda: A History and Training Manual for the Dora Milaje.

Written by comics journalist, podcaster and cultural anthropologist Karama Horne, the book will give a full history of the Dora Milaje to the present.

The book is scheduled for release on 13 September, 2022.

Who Could Forget Will Smith’s Legendary I Am Legend?

It has been more than a decade since the legendary film, I Am Legend graced our screens. The award-winning film followed scientist, Robert Neville (Will Smith) as he searches for a way to save humanity from the effects of a man made plague.

The film received critical acclaim and is definitely one of Will Smith’s most notable films. Now it looks like fans will get to dive back into the apocalyptic world in a sequel.

The Legend Continues in I Am Legend Sequel

It has been reported that there is an I Am Legend sequel in the works. Actor, Will Smith teased a return to the sci-fi thriller with an Instagram post with a photo showing a very post-apocalyptic looking New York street, covered in overgrowth.

Will Smith is set to reprise his lead role with actor, Michael B. Jordan said to take on a main role as well. Not much else has been revealed about the upcoming film.
