Get Ready for Africacomicade Gamathon!
Africacomicade Gamathon is an event, that creates a place for digital creatives in areas such as comics, animation, games and XR to showcase their work, network and gain the opportunity to collaborate and receive funding.
The event features workshops, panel sessions, industry talks, game pitch competitions, exhibitions and a game jam.
Africomicade Gamathon celebrated a successful opening edition last year and is now back for another edition!
From the 15th to 27th of November, 2021 , Africomicade Gamathon will host a two-week hybrid event. Open to participants across Africa, the event will take place virtually with a physical expo event to be held in Lagos, Nigeria on the last day.

Begho Tells the Story of a West African Market Town
Begho: A Market Town in 16th Century West Africa is a short film that tells the story of a vibrant market city through the eyes of a young girl named Akasi.
Situated at the crossroads of several trade routes, the town was occupied during the 11th and 18th century and its documentation is kept through early writings about West African and oral tradition.

A co-production between Ghananian animation studios, Animaxfyb Studios and French Studios, Past and Curious, the film headlined the 2nd Edition of the European Film Festival Ghana (EUFF) 2021, in September.
It is also one of several films made under the initiative of the French Embassy in Ghana to support higher education and research in heritage and tourism in Ghana.

Riot Releases A Brand New Arcane Trailer!
As the countdown to the First Act of the highly anticipated series, Arcane, draws near, Riot graced League of Legend gamers with a special treat. During the MOBA game’s semi-finals a brand new trailer was showcased!
Once again giving audiences an overview of the wealthy uppercity Piltover and seedy underbelly of Zaun, the trailer reveals a more linear plot and more details of the incredible world of Arcane.

Animated Versions of Imagine Dragons and JID ft on Arcane’s Title Track Music Video
Riot has also released the official music video for the series title track “Enemy”. The music video features animated versions of the song’s performers, Dan Reynolds and his band Imagine Dragons and rapper, JID.
The video also reveals more plot details, zoning in one of Arcane’s lead character’s Jinx.

Remember Toy Story?
Alongside a number of animated films including Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc the Toy Story movies have been one franchise that has played a huge part in the childhoods of numerous people. With characters such memorable characters like Woody, Mr Potato-Head, Little Bo Peep and of course, Buzz Lightyear.
Now Disney and Pixar will take Toy Story fans on a new adventure with a brand new animated feature, Lightyear.
Look Out For Lightyear
Dubbed a sci-fi, action-adventure Lightyear follows the origin story of the hero who inspired the action figure in Toy Story films, Buzz Lightyear.

Chris Evans (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avenges: Infinity War) will voice Buzz Lightyear. The film releases in theatres on June 17, 2022.
